Provisional Taxpayers (Businesses & Certain Individuals)
If you run a business, earn freelance income, or have multiple income streams:
- 1st Provisional Payment: End of August
- 2nd Provisional Payment: End of February
- 3rd Payment (Optional Top-Up): End of September
These payments help you settle your tax liability in advance, reducing the risk of large, unexpected tax bills and penalties.
Employers (PAYE, UIF & SDL)
If you employ staff, you are responsible for monthly submissions:
- Monthly Submissions & Payments: Due by the 7th of every month
This includes Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE), Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and Skills Development Levy (SDL). Late submissions can result in penalties and interest charges.
VAT Vendors
If your business is VAT registered:
- Submissions: Monthly or Bi-monthly
- Deadline: Typically the 25th of the month, or the last business day when submitted via eFiling
Timely VAT submissions are essential to maintain compliance and ensure smooth business operations.
